International Indigenous Peoples’ Day
Bandarban is a land of vibrant colors, rich traditions, and remarkable cultural diversity. Home to twelve distinct ethnic communities, the district is a living example of coexistence, where varied languages, customs, and practices form a unique social mosaic. This cultural richness is one of Bandarban’s most treasured hallmarks.
In honor of International Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Team Green Milieu organized a gathering aimed at uniting all communities. The event provided a platform to celebrate diversity, share experiences, and foster connections across generations. While there is always room for growth, the initiative was a meaningful step toward building understanding and solidarity among the region’s youth.
A special highlight of the program was the participation of Xi Had, founder of Mekateam, who inspired young people by sharing insights about indigenous knowledge and Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). His session encouraged the youth of Bandarban to value traditional wisdom while exploring sustainable practices to address environmental challenges.
