Green Milieu is a youth-led nonprofit walking alongside indigenous communities — protecting forests, opening classrooms, and amplifying the voices that shape the Hill Tracts.
Our Mission
Community-rooted change for a just and sustainable Hill Tracts.
Born from the lived experience of young people in Bandarban, Green Milieu exists to deepen access to education, defend indigenous rights, and protect the forests our communities have stewarded for generations.
We work shoulder-to-shoulder with elders, students, artisans, and farmers — turning local knowledge into durable programs and policy voice that reach beyond the hills.
Traditional Knowledge Preservation
Traditional knowledge is the backbone of indigenous identity and cultural pride. For generations, communities have preserved unique languages, weaving patterns, folklore, and sustainable farming practices.
Environmental Sustainability
The environment is central to the lives and livelihoods of indigenous communities, yet it faces increasing threats from deforestation, pollution, climate change, and unsustainable practices.
Community Resilience
Indigenous communities in Bangladesh often face serious challenges, including floods, limited resources, social inequality, economic hardship, and unequal access to essential opportunities and basic services.
