Summary:
On July 25, 2025, Our Stories, Our Strength brought together Indigenous youth from urban areas to explore their cultural identity and ancestral knowledge. Through a series of interactive activities—including Doctor-Patient, 11 Fingers, Perspective Adaptation Cards, Silent Reaction, Rock-Paper-Scissors, and a session on Traditional Knowledge Adaptation—participants reflected on themselves, their communities, and intergenerational wisdom.
In Perspective Adaptation Cards, for example, youth stepped into different roles or situations, exploring perspectives beyond their own and sharing insights with the group. Activities like Doctor-Patient and 11 Fingers encouraged trust, communication, and empathy, while Silent Reaction and Rock-Paper-Scissors fostered reflection, teamwork, and engagement. The Traditional Knowledge Adaptation session allowed participants to connect ancestral wisdom with contemporary challenges, seeing how cultural practices can guide modern life.
Through these exercises, participants discovered new ways to connect with their roots, understand diverse viewpoints, and strengthen solidarity among peers. By the end of the workshop, the youth walked away with a stronger sense of identity, appreciation for their heritage, and inspiration to carry their stories forward—showing that when we share our stories, we find our strength.
